Section 388-112-0125. What knowledge and skills must manager dementia specialty training include?

- Manager dementia specialty training must include all of the competencies and learning objectives described in WAC 388-112-0132 plus the following competencies:(1) Medications and dementia:(a) Common medications for general health problems;(b) Medication side effects;(c) Reporting side effects;(d) Drugs used with people who have dementia;(e) Extrapyramidal side effects;(f) Medications to treat dementia and their side effects; and(g) Treating dementia with antipsychotic drugs.(2) Setting the tone:(a) Working with families and friends;(b) Considerations for dealing with family members and friends; and(c) Encouraging self-care for the caregiver.[Statutory Authority: RCW 74.08.090, 74.09.520.
