Section 296-96-08190. What requirements apply to terminal stopping switches?

- A hoistway must be equipped with normal upper and lower terminal stopping switches that are activated by the conveyance chassis. These switches must stop the conveyance at the normal top and bottom terminals of travel.(1) Winding drum machines may use a slack cable switch as a bottom final terminal switch.(2) Normal and final terminal stopping switches must not control the same switches on the controller unless at least two separate and independent switches are used.
