- The purveyor shall provide consumer information to the water system users within twenty-one days of receipt of confirmation sample results when the department determines that a substance not included in this chapter is confirmed at a level greater than a SAL.(1) Consumer information shall include:(a) Name and level of chemical detected;(b) Location where the chemical was detected;(c) Any health effects that the chemical could cause at its present concentration;(d) Plans for follow-up activities; and(e) The purveyor's name and telephone number.(2) Consumer information shall be distributed by any of the following methods:(a) Notice placed in a daily newspaper of general circulation or in a weekly newspaper of general circulation if a daily newspaper does not serve the affected area;(b) Direct mail to consumers;(c) Posting for at least one week if a NTNC system; or(d) Any other method approved by the department.[Statutory Authority: RCW 43.20.050 (2) and (3) and 70.119A.080.
