Section 170-297-3625. Handwashing procedure.

- (1) The licensee or program staff must follow and teach children proper handwashing procedures. Proper handwashing procedures include:(a) Washing hands with warm water and liquid soap for a minimum of twenty seconds;(b) Drying hands with a paper towel, single-use cloth towel or air hand dryer; and(c) Turning off the water with paper towel or single use cloth towel.(2) Paper towels must be disposed of after a single use.(3) If cloth towels are used, they must be washed and sanitized after each use.(4) If an air hand dryer is used, it must have a heat guard to prevent burning and must turn off automatically.[Statutory Authority: Chapter 43.215 RCW.
