Subject of Possible Rule Making: The department is revising and updating chapter 388-112 WAC, Residential long-term care services.
Statutes Authorizing the Agency to Adopt Rules on this Subject: RCW

Reasons Why Rules on this Subject may be Needed and What They Might Accomplish: The department is proposing to amend chapter 388-112 WAC, Residential long-term care services.
The amendments and revisions to the rules throughout the chapter will be related to training and/or certification requirements for long-term care workers in:
. | Certified community residential services and supports businesses. |
. | Adult family homes. |
. | Assisted living facilities. |
The proposed rules are needed to:
. | Implement SHB 1629, which changed certain (1) home care aide certification requirements, and (2) long-term care worker continuing education requirements. |
. | Implement changes in specialty training requirement under SSB 5630. |
. | Update language and make other necessary housekeeping changes. |
. | As appropriate, incorporate any other related requirements that may become applicable during this rule making. |
Process for Developing New Rule: DSHS welcomes the public to take part in developing the rules. Anyone interested should contact the staff person identified below. At a later date, DSHS will file a proposal with the office of the code reviser with a notice of proposed rule making. A copy of the proposal will be sent to everyone on the mailing list and to anyone who requests a copy.
