Notice of Interpretive or Policy Statement
In accordance with RCW 34.05.230(12), following is a list of policy and interpretive statements issued by the department of social and health services.
Medicaid Purchasing Administration (MPA) Division of Healthcare Services
Document Title: Medicaid State Plan Amendment.Subject: Freestanding birthing centers reimbursement.
Effective Date: January 1, 2011.
Document Description: The MPA intends to submit a Title XIX medicaid state plan amendment (SPA) to reflect the addition of freestanding birth center services as a mandatory medicaid benefit, in compliance with the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. While the state already covers this service, it is funded with state-only funds; this SPA will enable the state to claim federal matching funds.
