Section 51-50-1208. Section 1208—Interior space dimensions.

- 1208.3 Room area. Every dwelling unit shall have no fewer than one room that shall have not less than 120 square feet (13.9 m2) of net floor area. Other habitable rooms shall have a net floor area of not less than 70 square feet (6.5 m2).EXCEPTION:Kitchens are not required to be of a minimum floor area.Portions of a room with a sloped ceiling measuring less than 5 feet (1524 mm) or a flat ceiling measuring less than 7 feet (2134 mm) from the finished floor to the finished ceiling shall not be considered as contributing to the minimum habitable area for that room.[Statutory Authority: RCW 19.27.031 and 19.27.074.
