- The incident commander, after making a decision on what resources are required, will seek an appropriate mission number assignment required by the responding organization. For the support of those emergency workers covered under chapter 38.52 RCW or chapter 118-04 WAC the incident commander will contact the Washington state military department, emergency management division, to obtain a state of Washington mission number. For missions where a Federal Mission Number is required, DOD (active duty, reserve, and Guard components) Federal non-DOD (FCC, Customs, etc.) and Civil Air Patrol, the incident commander will contact the United States Air Force Rescue Coordination Center for issuance of a mission number.[Statutory Authority: Chapter 47.68 RCW.
