- The determination of whether the student is eligible for special education services in the specific learning disability category shall be made by the student's parent and a group of qualified professionals which must include:(1) The student's general education classroom teacher; or(2) If the student does not have a general education classroom teacher, a general education classroom teacher qualified to teach a student of his or her age; or(3) For a student of less than school age, an individual qualified to teach a student of his or her age; and(4) At least one individual qualified to conduct individual diagnostic examinations of students, such as school psychologist, speech language pathologist, or remedial reading teacher.[Statutory Authority: RCW 28A.155.090(7) and 42 U.S.C. 1400 et. seq.
