Section 392-164-420. General requirements for new program.

- To develop and implement a new migrant program, a local school district or operating agency must do the following:(1) Identify ten or more currently migrant students;(2) Do a needs assessment which will show what needs can be met in basic education, other specially funded programs, and determine if special unmet needs unique to the migrant life still exist.If so, the LEA may design a migrant education program based on this needs assessment that will be of a size, scope, and quality to give reasonable promise of substantial progress toward meeting the special needs of the identified migrant pupils.[Statutory Authority: RCW 28A.300.070.
