Section 392-121-540. Withholding for repayment of federal moneys—Withholding of basic education allocations.

- If the school district or charter school does not repay disallowed costs plus accrued interest or commit to an acceptable repayment plan within thirty calendar days of the notice provided pursuant to WAC 392-121-535, the superintendent of public instruction shall withhold from the school district's or charter school's next basic education apportionment payment an amount equal to the disallowed costs plus accrued interest. After the initial withholding the superintendent of public instruction shall withhold amounts for additional interest accruing on disallowed costs.[Statutory Authority: RCW 28A.150.290 and 28A.710.220.
