Section 388-97-1140. Individual dietary needs.

- The nursing home must:(1) Encourage residents to continue eating independently;(2) Provide effective adaptive utensils as needed to promote independence;(3) Allow sufficient time for eating in a relaxed manner;(4) Provide individualized assistance as needed;(5) Provide table service, for all residents capable of eating at a table, in a dining area/room, located outside of the resident's room; and(6) Offer a substitute of similar nutritive value when a resident refuses food served.
