  • Excess medical costs are medical expenses incurred by you after medicaid or private insurance have been accessed or when you do not have medical insurance. This may include the following:
    (1) Skilled nursing services (e.g., ventilation, catheterization, and insulin shots);
    (2) Psychiatric services;
    (3) Medical and dental services deemed medically necessary by your health care professional and an allowable medicaid covered expense;
    (4) Prescriptions for medications; and/or
    (5) Medical and dental premiums.
