Chapter 388-76. Adult family home minimum licensing requirements. |
Section 388-76-10825. Space heaters, fireplaces, and stoves.

- (1) The adult family home must not use oil, gas, kerosene, or electric space heaters that do not have an underwriters laboratories (UL) rating.(2) The adult family home must ensure that stoves and heaters do not block resident, staff, or household member escape routes.(3) The adult family home must ensure that fireplaces and stoves have a stable barrier that prevents accidental resident contact. The adult family home is not required to have a barrier if the fireplace and stove surfaces are not hot to the touch when in use.[Statutory Authority: Chapter 70.128 RCW.
