Section 388-76-10560. Resident rights—Adult family home management of resident financial affairs.

- If the adult family home agrees to manage a resident's personal funds, the home must do all of the following:(1) Hold, safeguard, manage, and account for the personal funds of the resident deposited with the home;(2) Have a written authorization from the resident;(3) Deposit a resident's personal funds in excess of one hundred dollars in an interest-bearing account or accounts separate from any of the home's operating accounts, and that credits all interest earned on residents' funds to that account;(4) If funds are pooled accounts, there must be a separate accounting for each resident's share; and(5) Keep a resident's personal funds that do not exceed one hundred dollars in a noninterest-bearing account, interest-bearing account, or petty cash fund.[Statutory Authority: RCW 70.128.040 and chapters 70.128 and 74.34 RCW.
