Section 388-27-0335. How does a child qualify for the adoption support reconsideration program?

- To be eligible for the adoption support reconsideration program, a child must:(1) Have resided, immediately prior to adoption finalization, in a department funded pre-adoptive placement or in department funded foster care;(2) Have a physical or mental handicap or emotional disturbance that existed and was documented before adoption or was at high risk for future physical or mental handicap or emotional disturbance due to conditions to which the child was exposed before adoption;(3) Reside in Washington state with an adoptive parent who lacks the financial resources to care for the child's special needs; and(4) Be covered by a primary basic health insurance program.[Statutory Authority: RCW 74.13.031.
