Section 388-27-0310. If a child met federal Title IV-E eligibility for adoption assistance before the adoption, but was not placed on the adoptive support program, what may the adoptive parent do after adoption finalization to obtain adoption support services for the adopted child?
Latest version.
- For a child who met the Title IV-E eligibility criteria for adoption assistance prior to adoption, federal rules allow for a possible finding of extenuating circumstances through an administrative hearing process. In these situations the adoptive parent must request a review by an administrative law judge or a review judge to obtain an order authorizing the department to enter into a post-adoption agreement to provide adoption support services to a special needs child.[Statutory Authority: RCW 74.13.031.
