Section 388-112-0140. What topics must the long-term care worker mental health specialty training include?

- (1) The long-term care worker mental health specialty training must include all of the competencies described in WAC 388-112-0142 for the following topics:(a) Understanding major mental illnesses;(b) Resident background, experiences and beliefs;(c) Respectful communication;(d) Creative approaches to challenging behaviors;(e) Decompensation and relapse planning;(f) Responding to hallucinations and delusions;(g) Crisis intervention and dealing with aggression; and(h) Suicide prevention.[Statutory Authority: RCW 74.08.090, 74.09.520.
