Section 296-96-23280. What requirements apply to all car emergency signaling devices in all buildings?

- All elevators must be equipped with an audible signaling device that can be activated by a switch or button marked "alarm." This switch or button must be located in or adjacent to each car's operating panel.The signaling device must be located inside the building and audible inside the car and outside the hoistway. One signaling device may be used for a group of elevators.
