Section 296-96-16130. What requirements apply to the construction of car frames and platforms?

- (1) Every elevator suspended by wire ropes must have a car frame consisting of a crosshead, uprights (stiles), and a plank located approximately at the middle of the car platform and in no case farther from the middle than one-eighth of the distance from the front of the platform.(2) Car frames must be guided on each guide rail by upper and lower guiding members attached to the frame.(3) Car frames and outside members of the platform must be made of steel.
