- ASME A18.1-6.10.1 Operation of the lift from the top and bottom landings and from the platform shall be controlled by control switches at all stations and by means of the continuous pressure type. Operation of the lift from the intermediate landings shall be controlled by "up" and "down" control switches and by means of continuous pressure type. Controls shall be one thousand two hundred millimeters (forty-eight inches) maximum and nine hundred fourteen millimeters (thirty-six inches) minimum above the platform floor, facility floor, or ground level. Operating devices shall be designed so that both the "up" and "down" circuits cannot be operated at the same time.[Statutory Authority: Chapter 70.87 RCW.
