- The secondary of a current transformer may not be opened while the transformer is energized. If the primary of the current transformer cannot be deenergized before work is performed on an instrument, a relay, or other section of a current transformer secondary circuit, the circuit shall be bridged so that the current transformer secondary will not be opened.[Statutory Authority: RCW 49.17.010, [49.17].040, [49.17].050 and [49.17].060.
