- The following requirements apply to work in water and steam spaces associated with boilers:(1) A designated employee shall inspect conditions before work is permitted and after its completion. Eye protection, or full face protection if necessary, shall be worn at all times when condenser, heater, or boiler tubes are being cleaned.(2) Where it is necessary for employees to work near tube ends during cleaning, shielding shall be installed at the tube ends.[Statutory Authority: RCW 49.17.010, [49.17].040, [49.17].050 and [49.17].060.
