Section 296-307-37624. What housekeeping requirements apply to working near exposed energized parts?

- (1) Where live parts present an electrical contact hazard, employees must not perform housekeeping duties near enough to the parts that there is a possibility of contact, unless adequate safeguards (such as insulating equipment or barriers) are provided.(2) Electrically conductive cleaning materials (including conductive solids such as steel wool, metalized cloth, and silicon carbide, as well as conductive liquid solutions) must not be used in proximity to energized parts unless procedures are followed that will prevent electrical contact.[WSR 97-09-013, recodified as § 296-307-37624, filed 4/7/97, effective 4/7/97.
