- (1) You must ensure that machines are locate so as to give (a) enough clearance between machines so that the movement of one operator will not interfere with the work of another, (b) ample room for cleaning machines and handling the work, including material and scrap. The arrangement of machines must be such that operators will not stand in aisles.(2) You must ensure that aisles are provided of sufficient width to permit the free movement of employees bringing and removing material. This aisle space is to be independent of working and storage space and should be defined by marking.(3) You must ensure that wood platforms used on the floor in front of machines are substantially constructed with nonslip surfaces.[Statutory Authority: RCW 49.17.010, 49.17.040, 49.17.050, and 49.17.060.
