Section 284-50-305. Applicability and scope.

  • This regulation shall apply to all individual disability insurance policies delivered or issued for delivery in this state on and after the effective date hereof, except it shall not apply to individual policies issued pursuant to a conversion privilege under a policy of group or individual insurance when such group or individual policy includes provisions which are inconsistent with the requirements of this regulation, nor to policies being issued to employees or members as additions to franchise plans in existence on the effective date of this regulation. The requirements contained in this regulation shall be in addition to any other applicable regulations previously adopted. This regulation shall not apply to medicare supplement insurance policies, as such policies are defined in the Medicare Supplemental Health Insurance Act, chapter 153, Laws of 1981. This regulation shall not apply to long-term care insurance policies or contracts, as such policies or contracts are defined in the Long-Term Care Insurance Act, chapter 48.84 RCW.
