Section 246-840-400. ARNP prescriptive authority.

- (1) An ARNP licensed under chapter 18.79 RCW when authorized by the nursing commission may prescribe drugs and medical devices pursuant to applicable state and federal laws.(2) The ARNP when exercising prescriptive authority is accountable for competency in:(a) Problem identification through appropriate assessment;(b) Medication and device selection;(c) Patient education for use of therapeutics;(d) Knowledge of interactions of therapeutics;(e) Evaluation of outcome; and(f) Recognition and management of side effects, adverse reactions, and complications.[Statutory Authority: RCW 18.79.050, 18.79.110, and 18.79.160.
