- Health care assistants' certification is valid for two years. The delegating practitioner or health care facility is responsible for certifying or recertifying health care assistants. An updated recertification form must be submitted if a health care assistant is to be delegated functions by a practitioner other than the delegating practitioner indicated on his or her delegation/certification form.[Statutory Authority: RCW 18.135.030.
