Section 246-335-230. Linen handling facilities.

- A hospice care center applicant or licensee must provide linen handling facilities with the capacity for receiving, holding, sorting, and separating soiled and clean linens either in clean and soiled utility rooms meeting the requirements of WAC 246-335-200 or in a separate linen handling facility meeting the following requirements:(1) Floor drain(s) located in the soiled linen area;(2) Handwash sink in soiled and clean processing areas;(3) Negative air pressure gradient with direction of air flow from clean side of room to dirty side of room if room is shared;(4) A folding area on clean side of room; and(5) Separate clean linen storage located to avoid sources of moist or contaminated air with:(a) Storage for reserve supply of linens, blankets, and pillows; and(b) Space for carts and/or shelves.[Statutory Authority: Chapter 70.127 RCW.
