- (1) The department may prohibit or regulate pets, except for bona fide service animals for persons with disabilities, on department lands.(2) It is unlawful for any person to allow pets to roam unattended on department lands.(3)(a) It is unlawful to cause or allow a pet to roam unleashed on department-owned lands from April 1 through July 31, unless posted otherwise.(b) It is unlawful to cause or allow a pet to roam unleashed on designated access sites or within five hundred feet of a designated campground on department lands.
