Section 222-30-120. Rate of harvest monitoring.

- (1) Purpose. A monitoring program will be established to determine the rate of timber harvest so that this information will be available, in combination with other information, for examining the relationship of the rate of timber harvest to sustainability of the timber industry and protection of public resources.(2) Monitoring program. The department shall monitor the rate at which forest land is harvested. The geographic base for monitoring will be a water resource inventory area.(3) Annual report to the board. In addition to the report provided for in WAC 222-08-160, the department shall report monitoring results to the board, annually, beginning in August 1992, including:(a) A summary of rate of harvest by water resource inventory area; and(b) Any other information considered to be significant in understanding the status of the rate of harvest.Actual reporting periods may be modified as dictated by the availability of satellite imagery.[Statutory Authority: RCW 76.09.040.
