Section 182-552-1200. Respiratory care—Noncovered services.

- (1) The medicaid agency pays for respiratory care only when listed as covered in this chapter. In addition to the noncovered services found in WAC 182-501-0070, the medicaid agency does not cover:(a) Emergency or stand-by oxygen systems;(b) Portable nebulizers;(c) Kits and concentrates for use in cleaning respiratory equipment;(d) Intrapulmonary percussive ventilation systems and related accessories;(e) Batteries for a CPAP;(f) Items or services which primarily serve as a convenience for the client or caregiver;(g) Oximetry checks;(h) Loaner equipment.(2) The medicaid agency evaluates a request for respiratory care listed as noncovered in this chapter under the provisions of WAC 182-501-0160.[Statutory Authority: RCW 41.05.021.
