- Professional certificate programs for principals/program administrators must be in compliance with program standards. To obtain a professional certificate, the residency principal or assistant principal will need to complete a professional educator standards board-approved professional certificate program and document three contracted school years of employment as a principal or assistant principal; the residency program administrator will need to complete a professional educator standards board-approved professional certificate program.The professional certificate for principals/program administrators requires successful demonstration of six standards at the professional certification benchmark levels, or above, and the candidate will need to provide evidence that he/she has had a positive impact on student learning.The candidate with the approved program shall develop an individual professional growth plan oriented toward the expectations for the professional certificate that shall address the six knowledge and skills standards, focus on activities that enhance student learning, and be informed by the performance evaluation process, and an analysis of the administrative context and assignment.[Statutory Authority: RCW 28A.410.210.
