- (1) The licensee must keep the premises free from rodents, fleas, cockroaches, and other insects and pests.(2) If pests are present in the licensed space, the licensee must:(a) Take action to remove or eliminate pests; and(b) Use the least poisonous method of pest management possible; or(c) Use chemical pesticides for pest management. If chemical pesticides are used, the licensee must:(i) Post a notice visible to parents, guardians and staff forty-eight hours in advance of the application of chemical pesticides; and(ii) Comply with the Washington state department of agriculture's compliance guide for Pesticide use at Public Schools (K-12) and Licensed Day Care Centers in applying chemical pesticides.(3) Where the licensee does not have decision-making authority over the licensed premises, document verification of compliance is acceptable.[Statutory Authority: Chapter 43.215 RCW.
