Section 16-250-076. Expression of guarantees—Microorganisms and enzymes.

- Any commercial feed being distributed as a source of microorganisms or enzymes, including silage additives, must be guaranteed as follows:(1)(a) Guarantees for microorganisms must be stated in colony forming units (CFU) per unit weight or volume, consistent with label directions.(b) A parenthetical statement following the guarantee must list each species in order of predominance.(2)(a) Guarantees for enzymes must be stated in units of enzymatic activity per unit weight or volume, consistent with label directions.(b) The source organism for each type of enzymatic activity must be specified, for example: Protease (bacillus subtilis) 5.5 mg amino acids liberated/minute/milligram.(c) If two or more sources have the same type of activity, they must be listed in order of predominance based on the amount of enzymatic activity provided.
