Section 132V-22-010. Purpose—Tenure.

- The board of trustees of Community College District 22 hereby establishes the following rules on academic employee tenure. The purpose of [tenure] is twofold:(1) To protect faculty appointment rights and faculty involvement in the establishment and protection of those rights at Tacoma Community College and all subsequent community colleges hereafter established within Community College District 22; and(2) To assure that tenure is granted to academic employees of such character and scholarly ability that the district, so far as its resources permit, can justifiably undertake to employ them for the rest of their academic careers.[Statutory Authority: RCW 28B.50.140(13) and 28B.50.852.
