Section 132R-175-120. Protection of public records.

- The location of the public records officer appointed pursuant to WAC 132R-175-060 shall be in the business office. The public records officer shall establish a central district index which shall be the district's master index to be coordinated with subsidiary indexes established in each major administrative area of the college, specifically:(1) The office of the secretary to the board of trustees of the district (which is the office of the president of Big Bend Community College);(2) The office of the president of Big Bend Community College;(3) The office of the vice-president of instruction;(4) The office of the vice-president of student services;(5) The office of the vice-president for administrative services; and/or(6) Upon receiving requests for public records in the manner prescribed in WAC 132R-175-080, it shall be the duty of the public records officer to immediately act upon the request. If it is determined the item requested is a public record as defined in WAC 132R-175-020 it shall be the duty of the public records officer to locate the public record in the office in which it is filed and make it available for inspection. If, in the judgment of the public records officer, there be a possibility of the destruction of the public record, then the public records officer shall make available a copy of the record. Upon request the public records officer shall make available copies of public records in accordance with WAC 132R-175-090.[Statutory Authority: RCW 28B.50.140 and chapter 34.05 RCW.
