Section 132E-120-300. Appeals of disciplinary action—General.

- (1) Disciplinary action imposed by the chief student affairs officer or designee, with the exception of harassment and/or discrimination complaints, may be appealed to the student conduct committee. All harassment and/or discrimination complaints shall follow the appeal process described in WAC 132E-120-385.(2) An appeal by a student of disciplinary action must meet the following conditions:(a) The appeal must be in writing and must clearly state the student's position and errors in fact, if any, and compelling reasons which support the appeal; and(b) The appeal must be filed in the president's office within twenty-one working days from the date that the student was served notice that disciplinary action had been taken or recommended against him/her.(3) All recommendation(s) from the student conduct committee shall include the signature of the chair. Copies of the committee's recommendation(s) shall be sent to the student, chief student affairs officer or designee, and president.(4) Recommendations made by the student conduct committee may be appealed by the student to the president of the college. The president shall review the report of the proceedings which give rise to the appeal and the disciplinary action taken by the chief student affairs officer or designee and the recommendation(s) of the student conduct committee.
